About the Speaker:
Professor Mario Gauthier received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from McGill University in 1984 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from McGill University in 1989. From 1991 to 1991, he continued his postdoctoral research at the University of Freiburg in Germany. He was an assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Waterloo in Canada in 1991 and an associate professor in 1996. He was appointed professor of chemistry at the University of Waterloo since 2000.
Prof. Mario Gauthier has high attainments in the field of polymer synthesis, pharmaceutical carriers and pharmaceutical preparations. The research direction mainly includes (1) anionic polymerization: dendrimer / other grafting by stable radical polymerization and emulsion polymerization Polymers and block copolymers. (2) ionomer: ionomer, polymer (polymer) electrolyte. Since 1996, more than 50 academic papers have been published, mainly published in Macromolecules, Polymer and other areas of the authority of the journal.
