In order to improve the level of engineering technology, learn international engineering cutting-edge technology, promote academic exchange project level between China and the international scientific community, and provide international academic exchange platform for China Youth engineering science and technology experts, on September 17th, the Second “Youth Symposium of Engineering Frontiers” sponsored by the China Academy of Engineering was held in Lecture Hall of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. This Symposium is one of cooperation projects in the field of science and technology between Chinese Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Engineering, will provide basis for the two organizations to carry out bilateral academic exchanges, as well as create conditions for Chinese Academy of Engineering to cooperate with other National Academy of Engineering.

        The Opening ceremony was chaired by Zhong Zhihua, the Academician of Chinese Engineering Academy and President of Hunan University. Dean Zhou Ji and Academician Xu Kuangdi made a speech at the opening ceremony. More than 120 outstanding young science and technology experts in Wireless technology, bio-derived engineering, advanced vehicles and mobile as well as marine engineering fields attended the seminar, gave academic reports, and carried out academic exchanges. Professor Yang Guang gave an invited lecture entitled “Controllable Bio-fabrication based on Microbes: From Microbes to Functional Materials”. The meeting invited more than 30 experts to the expert group, mainly are academicians, to examine and appraise each report. After Heavily filtering, Professor Yang Guang was selected as one of the 30 Chinese representatives, to participate in the Second China-America Frontiers of Engineering Symposium which will be held in San Diego in March next year
