May 15-20, Professor Yang Guang was invited to participate in 2nd Sino-Canadian Conference on Advanced Materials (CCAM). This conference was Convened in Materials and Chemical Engineering Division, Dushu Lake Campus, Suzhou University,.
" Sino-Canadian Advanced Materials conference " is a bilateral high-level academic exchanges held on the basis of sisiter Province between Ontario in Canada and the Jiangsu Province. The first was convoked in McMaster University of Canada , April ,2006, and it aimed to enhance cooperation in scientific research and technological development through academic exchanges of outstanding scientists in Polymer and material science fields between China and Canada.
The objective of this conference is to give special symposium on many hot technology of international frontier in high-performance polymer materials, biomedical materials and new materials fields, to promote scientific research、product restructuring、new product development and technology updates in these fields. Nearly 300 people, including relevant experts and scholars in new materials ,new energy resources fields of China and Canada as well as some teachers and students on behalf of Suzhou University attended the opening ceremony.
Canadian participants are nearly 30, including 7 academicians of Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences. They are former president of the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences, professor Garry Rempel of Waterloo University, Dean of Biomedical Engineering , professor John Brash of McMaster University, professor Adi Eisenberg of McGill University, professor Michael Baird of Queen's University, professor David Wilkinson of McMaster University and professor Pierre Carreau of Montreal University.
Two academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor Jiang Ming of Shanghai Fudan University and professor Li Shutang of Suzhou University, as well as chairman of SVG Optronics Co. Ltd, professor Chen Linshen etc., have come to the conference and given report to the Assembly as special representatives. Besides, many Changjiang Scholars, winners of National Outstanding Youth Fund and well-known professors have given reports too.
