The Ninth World Biomaterials Congress was held in Chengdu on June 1 to 5, which was approved by the State Council, sponsored by The International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (IUSBSE), Chinese Society for Biomaterials (CSBM), hosted by Sichuan University, and Chengdu Municipal Government. Professor Yang Guang and Dr. Huang Lin were invited to attend the event, for giving the oral report ‘the Skin Tissue Repair Materials from Bacterial Cellulose by an Improved Method’ and the poster ‘A Novel 3D - network Nano-cellulose as the Extended-release Drug Carriers’, respectively. World Biomaterials Congress is the highest level and the largest event in a global field of biological materials, which held every four years term. It is known as the ‘Olympics’ in the field biological materials. The Ninth World Biomaterials Congress was held for the first time in China since 32 years from the founder time, and also was the one of the largest scale and impact international meeting held in Chengdu, in recent years. The theme of the Congress was ‘Innovative Biomaterials and Crossing Frontiers in Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine.’ It covered biomedical materials, medical implants, artificial organs, tissue engineering, the new methods to inspect and evaluate products, the progress of clinical research and applications, management, education, and ethics and other aspects. This congress brought together a number of world-class top-biological materials experts, including Nicholas.
